The History of SkinKind In 1988 Josie & Steve Brookes created the company originally called Brookdale which is now known as SkinKind. Back then no one had heard of or even cared about “Natural Hand Cleaners “ they just wanted something that worked. From very small beginnings a product was formulated and developed that provided exceptional results when used on very rough skin. This enabled SkinKind to offer its natural products to industries, starting with companies who historically had processes or products that could potentially cause their workforce to suffer from many of these types of debilitating skin conditions, resulting in lost time and productivity.
Over the next 15 years the “Green Issue” became far more prominent and had the effect of making Skinkinds job even easier. Now everyone requires an environmentally friendly, safe and effective product and while few exist, SkinKind is an exception. They further developed and improved their industrial business, primarily in the North of England, supplying natural skin care products and skin care services to many household names such as Silentnight Beds, Hallmark Cards, Kone Escalators, Rolls Royce, BASF, Akzo Nobel, Crown Paints, Biffa, Yorkshire Post, Arriva and many, many others.
5 years ago Josie Brookes saw an opportunity to further develop the product into the broader and more lucrative cosmetic marketplace and has been specially formulating and developing her natural product range.
SkinKind then added working partnerships with a local Industrial chemist, web developer and graphic designer to their stable of expertise. Advertising on the “Home Shopping” channels in the USA was approved late 2010, making 2011 a year that is shaping up to be very exciting year
